About Me

Hi, my name is Jiaqin (Amber) Zhang. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania state.
I provide Mandarin/Chinese and English counseling services for WA and PA residents. I focus on supporting adolescents and adults as they navigate life transitions, educational and professional stress, interpersonal challenges, and trauma recovery.
I got my MSEd and MPhil at University of Pennsylvania in 2021. I got licensed in PA and WA in 2024.

My Approach

I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space where clients can explore thoughts and emotions, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change.
I am deeply committed to a person-centered therapeutic approach, recognizing connection, individualization, and safety as the foundations of effective treatment. I find that mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral work are often helpful for symptom management and personal growth. My work is also informed by psychodynamic perspectives, acknowledging the profound impact of early-life experiences and family dynamics on mental health.

My Style

I see myself as a listener and a companion. In any interpersonal connection, feeling truly understood is incredibly important. As we get to know each other and build trust, I take time to listen deeply and explore underlying issues. I also point out concerns in real time and provide insights.

I look forward to working with you.
